  • Our Award Winning Dance Company Maximum Motion performs through out Sonoma County! Audiences were amazed and delighted with the recent Zombie performance of Thriller at the Barlow Street Party. Everyone got in the holiday spirit when Maximum Motion performed at the Healdsburg Tree Lighting ceremony sponsored by North County Hospice.
  • Our studio has won many trophies from the Windsor Parade.
  • Windsor Dance Academy was the Host Studio for the Moscow Ballet’s Nutcracker 2014 Season.
  • Ms. Diane was featured in the Press Democrat’s “Town Section” in 2012.
  • Our studio location was used on the Biography Channel show “My Ghost Story” (Episode 41).

Meet Our Instructors

Mikayla Bates

Position:Jazz and Ballet Instructor
Mikayla Bates (Miss Mikayla) became a teacher at Windsor Dance Academy in August 2017. Before becoming a teacher, Mikayla was an aide for Ms. Mandy. She has also has taught Hip-Hop for Extended Child Care during the summer. Her passion for dance started when she began taking ballet from Ms. Diane in 2002. In addition to ballet she has taken several classes from both Ms. Diane and Ms. Mandy, including hip-hop, Jazz, and acrobats. When she was younger she marched and danced in the Windsor parade for Windsor Dance Academy. At the age of 11 Mikayla began dancing en pointe. Mikayla has been a member of Windsor Dance Academy’s dance company Maximum Motion since 2016. She has also performed with her peers in the Moscow Ballet’s Nutcracker. In addition to Windsor Dance Academy Mikayla also studied dance in high school four all four years and was apart of Maria Carrillo’s advanced dance team for both junior and senior year. She choreographed a group dance for one of their winter shows as well a duet for one of their spring shows. Mikayla also has a certificate in Child Development from Santa Rosa Junior College.

Diane Donham

Position:Studio Owner & Ballet Instructor
Diane Donham (Ms. Diane) began her ballet training with the Carol Petersen School of Ballet in 1969 and continued throughout her career. She studied under Mr. and Mrs. Dimitri Romanoff, Paul Curtis, and Richard Gibson. Diane took summer training sessions for four consecutive years with the Palo Alto Ballet School and the Marin Ballet School. She was chosen each of those years to perform in their summer programs. She performed for five years with the San Jose Dance Theatre, two of which were as a company member. Diane Donham taught for the Carol Petersen School of Ballet from 1977 to 1991. She opened the Sunnyvale Dance Academy in 1984 and taught there until 1991. She opened the Windsor Dance Academy in 1989 and has been teaching in Sonoma County ever since. Diane teaches the Ballet classes.
